Journey of the OJT: Day 18
The 18th day of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) at the University Library System was a day of exploration and conceptualization. I was able to meet with the library director and discuss the current state of the library, as well as the potential for growth. We discussed the need for more efficient and organized cataloging of books and resources, as well as the potential to expand access to more resources. We also discussed the potential for digitization of library materials, which could increase access even further.
The day was spent in the library, exploring the bookshelves and cataloging them, as well as familiarizing myself with the library software. I was able to gain an understanding of how the library staff works to ensure that all materials are properly organized and accessible. I also gained a better understanding of the library's digital infrastructure and the potential for digitization of materials. Overall, I was able to gain a better understanding of the library's current state and conceptualize potential paths forward.
